摘要: In southeastern United States, a region where the zonal vegetation is deciduous forests, shallow soils over limestone and dolomitic bedrock support edaphic climax herbaceous plant communities known as cedar glades. The flora includes 400 species of vascular plants; 79 these are winter annuals 47 summer annuals. This chapter reviews life cycle ecology both groups therophytes in glade habitat relation to their tolerances, requirements adaptations. Temperature, through its influence on seed dormancy, dormancy break germination, single most important environmental factor regulating timing annual plants
