摘要: Abstract Biosorption of Cd2+ and Cu2+ by wheat straw (Triticum sativum) using a batch system continuous up-flow fixed-bed column was studied. For the system, effect pH over range from 3.0 to 7.0 temperature 20 40 °C on metal removal investigated. Various initial concentrations 150 mg L−1 were used. Adsorption ions observed increase with temperature. By increasing at an concentration 100 mg L−1, uptake increased 12.2 15.7 mg g−1 9.1 12.2 mg g−1 for Cu2+, respectively. Similarly, solution 7.0, adsorption capacity 2.7 14.4 mg g−1 3.4 12.4 mg g−1, Among three widely used isotherms, namely Langmuir, Freundlich Temkin models, experimental data better fitted Langmuir isotherm. mode in fixed bed straw, experiments performed flow rates 1.10 × 10−3 3.67 × 10−3 m3 s−1 (0.3–1.0 LPM) varied heights 0.5 2.0 m. The results obtained agree bed-depth service-time (BDST) model well. In addition, estimations parameters necessary design large-scale adsorber, also Thomas, Bohart–Adams Yan models.
