摘要: It is often assumed that the first arriving electrons of a near-relativistic (E > 30 keV) electron event are injected at Sun impulsively and simultaneously all observed energies propagate scatter-free to 1 AU. In case, plot onset times T0 versus c/v for various speeds v should yield solar injection time Tinj propagation distance D. some events D ~ 1.2 AU, but inferred characteristically delayed by ~10 minutes after start metric/decametric type III radio bursts believed be signatures injection. The delays may indicate injections not directly associated with bursts, could also result from gradual or energy-dependent significant coronal/interplanetary scattering, even well-beamed events. These effects invalidate analyses. We use Wind 3D Plasma Energetic Particle (3DP) data make plots 80 test consistency values D, which found broadly distributed between 0.15 2.7 most cases < an unphysical partially due instrumental in high-energy 3DP detector, clearly inconsistent assumptions impulsive energy-independent onsets electrons. discuss how previous results analyses have yielded contradictory and/or challenging as well energetic ion
