Design issues of the multilevel active-clamped converter

摘要: This paper studies several design issues of the multilevel active-clamped (MAC) topology. Several guidelines are proposed to guarantee a proper MAC converter and improve its performance. The inclusion resistor network balance blocking voltage devices when is in OFF state, use self-powered gate-driver power-supplies, or definition shut-down sequence avoid possible device failures some proposals. also singular current spikes that appear topology during switching state transitions. These occur owing diode reverse recovery discharging output parasitic capacitances. A selection reduces these peaks, decreasing losses electromagnetic interference. Experimental tests carried out with four-level prototype validate analysis.
