摘要: The findings of an investigation into the stability and durability high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geogrid soil reinforcing elements used in grade separation structures on a project at Tanque Verde-Wrightstown-Pantano Roads intersection Tucson, Arizona, is documented. represents first use reinforcement concrete-faced, mechanically stabilized earth retaining walls major transportation-related application North America. reinforced were constructed 1984 1985, geogrids have been service for 8 to 9 years elevated temperature environment that accelerates mechanisms degradation. combined effects age exposure made this candidate evaluation geosynthetic durability. A sample retrieved from was subjected series laboratory procedures tests. Results tests are presented as topological analysis, ultimate tensile strength, strain, 1,000-hr creep response, melt rheology, range, crystallinity, oxidative induction times. Test results compared archived values. Soil samples also analyzed. It concluded after more than environment, exhumed HDPE has not experienced any significant change physical performance properties or morphological HDPE.
