Diagnosis of local infection of a burn by semiquantitative culture of the eschar surface.

摘要: The purpose of this study was to determine whether semiquantitative surface cultures the burn eschar are as reliable or useful classic invasive biopsy culture method. We used eschars from patients with burns in an vitro system. Lyophilized pigskin validate our methodology. Because its simplicity and high degree sensitivity specificity compared quantitative culture, has a place wound surveillance.
