Near-field optical images of ordered polystyrene particle layers and their photonic band effect

摘要: To study the origin of SNOM image contrast patterns observed for samples composed transparent materials only, we have investigated transmission images an ordered polystyrene particles layer various wavelengths incident light. We found a drastic change in as wavelength is scanned across resonant photonic bands layer. Observed dependence near-field intensity was to be good qualitative agreement with theoretical calculation terms band effect.
