摘要: Plague is a disease of epidemic potential that may emerge with discontinuous outbreaks. In South America, 50 wild rodent species have been identified as plague reservoirs, in addition to one lagomorph and two marsupials. To review the nomenclature we examined specimens collected foci, carried out new surveys Brazilian regions, re-evaluated American reservoirs on basis current literature. Five 15 involved Argentina, three 10 Bolivia, seven Peru, five nine Ecuador, six Brazil undergone taxonomic changes. last 20 years, cases were recorded Brazil, Peru. These four countries high richness fact be decisive for maintenance wild.
