摘要: Abstract The properties of several organic solvents were investigated to determine their suitability for use in phosphomolybdic acid (PMA) extraction procedures the measurement inorganic orthophosphate (P i ). Butyl acetate exhibited most satisfactory measurements at 310 nm, which is absorption peak unreduced PMA. exhibits essentially no highly selective PMA over molybdate and silicomolybdate, does not extract presence trichloroacetic (TCA), negligible volume changes when equilibrated with equal volumes aqueous phase, among least toxic solvents. Optimal conditions acidity, concentration, reaction times determined formation into butyl acetate. A procedure P biological material employing 8% TCA precipitation 0°C, supernatant molybdate, reading nm described. simple, rapid, accurate, selective, has high sensitivity. Because short (20 sec) sample exposure it suggested that may also be useful adenosine triphosphate such as assay adenosinetriphosphatase activity.
