摘要: Objective To evaluate the association of exercise and knee-bending activities with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)–based knee cartilage T2 relaxation times morphologic abnormalities in asymptomatic subjects from Osteoarthritis Initiative, or without osteoarthritis (OA) risk factors. Methods We studied 128 OA factors 33 normal control ages 45–55 years, a body mass index 18–27 kg/m2 no pain. Subjects were categorized according to level, using leisure activity component Physical Activity Scale for Elderly, by self-reported frequent activities. Two radiologists graded right on MR images, Whole-Organ MRI Score (WORMS). Cartilage was segmented, compartment-specific values calculated. Differences between groups determined multiple linear logistic regression models. Results Among OA, light exercisers had lower compared sedentary moderate/strenuous exercisers. When sexes analyzed separately, female higher individuals displayed significant differences level. However, associated both those more severe lesions group factors. Conclusion In at low values, whereas women high values. Higher WORMS grades also observed knee-benders, suggesting greater degeneration these individuals.
