摘要: AbstractThe government of Bangladesh has introduced several initiatives seeking to develop participatory governance at the local level in order maximise outcomes aid-assisted development projects. This article examines impact these and demonstrates that faces a number challenges Bangladesh, particular, absence democratic culture tradition disengagement citizens, asymmetric distribution patronage weak institutions. In theory, political elites bureaucrats advocate democracy, accountability local-level participation, but practice, they have an affinity for power centralised authority. Their reform seem half-hearted disjointed restricting growth Bangladesh.
