摘要: A new analysis of elastic properties dense hard-sphere (HS) fluids is presented, based on the expressions derived by Miller [J. Chem. Phys. 50, 2733 (1969)JCPSA60021-960610.1063/1.1671437]. Important consequences for HS in terms sound waves propagation, Poisson's ratio, Stokes-Einstein relation, and generalized Cauchy identity are explored. Conventional high-frequency moduli simple systems with continuous differentiable interatomic interaction potentials known to diverge when approaching repulsive limit. The origin this divergence identified here. It demonstrated that these conventional only applicable sufficiently soft interactions should not be applied systems. reported results can interest context statistical physics, physics fluids, condensed matter, granular materials.
