摘要: Constructions of gender, embodiment and agency among male Hamas youths in the West Bank are discussed this article through prism violence. It focuses on constructions uncertain masculinities a complex interplay violence, political Islam, suffering loss, importance analyzing body such processes – both as agential victimized is highlighted. To be able to move away from sensationalist Western media that often portray Middle Eastern Muslim men “violent,” terrorists, we need understand motivations meanings The method analysis use discourse-centered approach experience-near ethnography begins with men’s own practices attends how they themselves, their bodies involved, live out norms ideologies everyday lives. Thereby realities identities interpreted, negotiated constructed actively involved these processes. This relevant since it possible analyze singularity experience, not only form social interaction, but linked structures discourses, which implies negotiations tensions, conflicts, uncertainties.
