On-line detection of human skin vapors

摘要: Vapors released by the skin in hand of one human subject are detected real time sampling them directly from ambient gas surrounding hand, ionizing secondary electrospray ionization (SESI, via contact with charged cloud an source), and analyzing a mass spectrometer atmospheric pressure source (API-MS). This gas-phase approach is complementary to alternative on-line surface methods such as DESI DART. A dominating peak lactic acid complete series saturated singly unsaturated fatty acids (C12 C18) observed, accordance previous off-line studies chromatography-mass spectrometry. Several other metabolites have been identified, including ketomonocarboxylic hydroxymonocarboxylic acids.
