摘要: The Paleocene-Miocene of Peninsula Mitre: foredeep and wedge-top the Austral Basin, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. orogenic margin Austral-Malvinas foreland basin system is formed by a marine succession exposed at northern Mitre, composed 550 m late Paleocene-early Eocene foredeep, more than 2,900 middle Eocene-?Miocene Maria Luisa sub-basin. subdivided in following formations: La Barca (100 m, upper Paleocene), Punta Noguera (450 lower Eocene), Leticia (30 Cerro Colorado (935 Eocene-upper Puesto Jose (nom. nov., 1,600 Oligocene) Malenguena 216 ?Miocene). foraminiferal content Formation distinguished dominance Globocassidulina cf. brocha, its particular preservation, features not previo- usly recognized Argentinean part Basin. Syntectonic unconformities are between Paleocene-Eocene boundary Eocene, related to regional orogenesis; uppermost Eocene-lowermost Oligocene, locally Campo Medio anticline; 'mid' associated with backthrust; ?lower Miocene, deep structures thrust-fold belt.
