摘要: Abstract Developing nations are faced with a two-edged sword in the field of energy. On one hand rising price oil has reduced potential for fossil fuel energy and eroded foreign exchange reserves oil-importing countries. At same time deforestation may be causing increased prices or shortages fuels such as fuelwood charcoal. This paper reviews most recent sometimes controversial estimates developing countries analyzes relationship between its probable causes. Three rate 1968 1978 compared using rank order correlation. Two estimates, closed forest moist tropical forest, significant agreement but differ from third estimate that includes open woodland regenerating forest.
