摘要: Abstract Fullerenes are chemical structures made of carbon atoms. The stable form is molecule composed 60 atoms arranged in a soccer ball-shaped structure. With respect to its electron donor and acceptor capability photochemical behavior fullerenes can be effective antioxidants radical scavengers or prooxidants photosensitizers. These properties have paid attention on their possible biological applications. Results previous studies point the great dependance activity upon quality, quantity geometry substituents fullerene derivatives. Some derivatives show antiviral antimicrobial activity, including anti-HIV properties. C60 able exhibit cytotoxic enzyme-inhibiting abilities as well radical-quenching antioxidative abilities.
