Efficient codebook-based MIMO beamforming for millimeter-wave WLANs

摘要: Beamforming is a critical and natural solution for 60 GHz band wireless communications due to the increased signal attenuation. In this paper we propose an efficient codebook-based MIMO beamforming training scheme estimating antenna weight vectors (AWVs) in millimeter-wave local area networks (WLANs). We adopt discrete Fourier transform (DFT)-based codebooks. simple iterative AWVs algorithm that uses only one AWV feedback obtain best transmit (TX) receive (RX) pair. Instead of initial selection multiple TX RX IEEE 802.11ad draft standard, select subsequent refinement. The beam pattern search refinement limited region corresponding from their angular rotated adjacent beams. To verify performance compare our proposed with specified terms gains show outperforms even using fewer time.
