摘要: Understanding social behaviour in livestock groups requires accurate geo-spatial localisation data over time which is difficult to obtain the field. Automated on-animal devices may provide a solution. This study introduced an Real-Time-Kinematic Global Navigation Satellite System (RTK-GNSS) device (RTK rover) based on RTK module manufactured by company u-blox (Thalwil, Switzerland) that was assembled box and harnessed sheep backs. Testing with 7 across 4 days confirmed rover tracking of movement continuously accuracy approximately 20 cm. Individual were used observe first moved during grazing period (movement leaders) one-hectare test paddock as well construct networks. Analysis optimum location update rate, threshold distance cm or 30 cm, showed sampling at rate 1 sample per second for min followed no samples 9 min, detected networks accurately continuous measurements every 5 s. The acquired precise one flock outdoor field environment strategies identified extend battery life.
