摘要: Heavy weight gilts commonly show signs of oestrus during the late finishing phase, which results in a period reduced feed intake and growth rate. Immunization against gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) (IM, immunocastration) was developed for boars recently extrapolated to females. Immunocastration acts by suppressing reproductive activity improving potential. The objective this study evaluate effects IM on performance, carcass characteristics gilts. Seventy-two (63.49 ± 0.39 kg) were either injected with saline (Intact) or immunized GnRH (Immunized). consisted three experimental periods: between first second immunization (V1 V2, 15 19 weeks age), from beginning daily boar exposure (DBE) (V2 DBE, 21 age) DBE slaughter (S) (DBE S, 25 age). Immunized showed an overall increase (from weeks) 3.90 kg (P 0.05). 4.4% increased cold ovarian uterine weights 82% < 0.001) 93% 0.001), respectively, suppressed manifestation all group 0.001). These indicate that is promising tool stimulating performance no detrimental quality heavy gilts, means suppression.
