摘要: Piglets can often suffer impaired antioxidant status and poor immune response during post-weaning, especially when chronic inflammation takes place, leading to lower growth rates than expected. Oral administration of dietary compounds this period could be a feasible way balance oxidation processes increase health performance. The aim the trial was study effects an feed supplement (melon pulp concentrate) that contains high concentration superoxide dismutase (SOD) on inflammation, performance lipopolysaccharide (LPS) challenged weaned piglets. In total, 48 piglets were individually allocated four experimental groups in 2×2 factorial design for 29 days. Two different treatments adopted: (a) control (CTR), fed basal diet, (b) treatment (MPC), diet plus 30 g/ton melon concentrate. On days 19, 21, 23 25 half animals within CTR MPC subjected challenge with intramuscular injections increasing dosage LPS from Escherichia coli (serotype 0.55:B5) (+) or injected equal amount PBS solution (−). Blood samples collected at beginning under interleukin 1β, 6, tumour necrosis factor α, haptoglobin, plasma SOD activity, total capacity, reactive oxygen species, red blood cells resistance haemolysis, 8-oxo-7, 8-dihydro-2’-deoxyguanosine. Growth evaluated weekly. A positive effect concentrate evidenced half-haemolysis time cells, average daily gain (ADG) intake, while increased pro-inflammatory cytokines haptoglobin serum concentrations, reduced intake : (G F). obtained results show oral supplementation ameliorates capacity cell post-weaning piglets, growing
