Paediatric Dentists Treating Children on Bisphosphonates: A Cross-Sectional Questionnaire-Based Study.

摘要: Purpose: The purposes of this study were to: (1) investigate the knowledge and management strategies pediatric dentists in Australia New Zealand who are treating children on bisphosphonates; (2) determine if there is consistency management. Methods: A 19-item questionnaire was generated via online program Qualtrics distributed to dentists. consisted four categories: demographics; information about bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis jaw (BRONJ); (3) role confidence; (4) patients taking bisphosphonates. Results: total 65 responses recorded survey; however, 12 excluded, as they incomplete, hence response rate 43 percent. results showed that 40 percent participants directly involved managing bisphosphonates, 47 had no role, 37 respondents acknowledged importance completing invasive dental treatment before BP therapy, 13 unsure. majority (83 percent) previously received BRONJ, agreed complete procedures bisphosphonate therapy. There multiple questions concerning antibiotic prophylaxis, use chlorhexidine gluconate mouth rinses, "drug holidays." Conclusions: This an agreement for good communication between dentist physician. However, controversies among other strategies.
