摘要: Food habits of golden jackal (Canis aureus) and striped hyena (Hyaena hyaena) were investigated using scat analysis between November 2010 June 2011 in Sariska Tiger Reserve, Western India. Total 104 scats 86 collected analyzed. The frequency occurrence each prey species was estimated through bootstrapping program SIMSTAT. Niche breadth these two quantified Levin's measure. diet overlap the assessed Pianka's index. Twelve food items identified nine scats. Vegetative matter contributed maximum (17.57%) jackal's followed by rodents (15.77%), chital (10.81%), sambar (5.41%) nilgai (4.05%). Nilgai domestic cattle (24.76% each) hyena, (17.14%), (16.19%) vegetative (10.48%). dietary 67%. for as 0.69 it 0.57. considerable attributed to mutual dependence on ungulates, which indicated high resource competition species.
