摘要: As of today, there is no operating system suitable for pervasive computing. Such must integrate and coordinate heterogeneous devices systems but, at the same time, it should provide a single image to let user feel that only ''pervasive'' computing environment. illusion consider Internet as backbone, because users move. The challenge providing novel while permitting seamless integration traditional legacy systems, which may be required run on many computers devices, if their applications. We argue build such system, we abandon Middleware use different technology, call Upperware. To back up our claim, have built an actual using Upperware: Octopus. Octopus has been in several years both applications like smart spaces general-purpose through wide area networks, daily basis. In this paper discuss Upperware approach present out Upperware, including some evaluation results.
