摘要: The dorsomedial nucleus of the hypothalamus (DMH) plays an important role in regulation energy intake and expenditure. Numerous appetite-regulatory signals present DMH, including nitric oxide (NO) endogenous cannabinoids (eCBs), act to regulate food intake, but whether these are involved regulating high fat remains unknown. We therefore asked NO eCBs, administered alone or combination, would influence consumption rats. implanted bilateral guide cannulas DMH young, male Sprague-Dawley rats for microinjection vehicle, (via precursor l-arginine), eCB 2-arachidonylglycerol (2-AG), a combination two signals. Following intrahypothalamic injections, both body weight were measured hours at which point brains removed sectioned confirm cannula placement DMH. Here we show that l-arginine significantly increases when into This effect is abolished presence 2-AG, has no on weight. l-arginine-induced increase dependent synthesis, as it prevented with synthase inhibitor, l-NAME. also demonstrate glutamate transmission onto neurons, requires synthesis 2-AG. Together, data indicate acts food, possibly by enhancing signaling synapses.
