摘要: Heat stress (HS) jeopardizes human and animal health reduces agriculture productivity; however, its pathophysiology is not well understood. Study objectives were to evaluate the direct effects of HS on carbohydrate lipid metabolism. Female pigs (57 ± 5 kg body weight) subjected two experimental periods. During period 1, all remained in thermoneutral conditions (TN; 20°C) ad libitum fed. 2, exposed to: (1) constant (32°C) fed (n = 7), or (2) TN pair-fed (PFTN; n = 10) minimize confounding dissimilar feed intake. All received an intravenous glucose tolerance test (GTT) epinephrine challenge (EC) during early late phases 2. After 8 days environmental exposure, killed tissue samples collected. Despite a similar reduction intake (39%), tended have decreased circulating nonesterified fatty acids (NEFA; 20%) blunted NEFA response (71%) EC compared PFTN pigs. increased basal C-peptide (55%) insulinogenic index (45%) GTT. Heat-stressed had reduced T3 T4 ratio (56%) hepatic 5′-deiodinase activity (58%). 8 days, decrease expression genes involved oxidative phosphorylation liver skeletal muscle, ATGL adipose tissue. In summary, markedly alters both metabolism independently nutrient
