摘要: The surface ultrastructure of the lung and trachea 7-week-old broiler chicks were examined with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to obtain a more accurate understanding structural changes due atmospheric ammonia (NH3). In first experiment, four broilers randomly assigned each chambers, exposed 0, 25, 50, 75, or 100 ppm NH3 for 7 days. Chickens exhibited large number mucus-secreting cells that not seen in other treatments. Ciliary loss from tracheal epithelium was consistent finding either control groups. There no evidence goblet cell disappearance treatment. second allocated chambers 4 an increase thickness atrial walls shrinking air capillaries increasing concentration; birds 75 NH3, wall one two times greater than birds. observable differences gross appearance lungs tracheas between groups except hemorrhagic spots on NH3.
