摘要: Parasitic two-level tunneling systems (TLS) emerge in amorphous dielectrics and constitute a serious nuisance for various microfabricated devices, where they act as source of noise decoherence. Here, we demonstrate new test bed the study TLS materials which provides access to properties individual well their ensemble response. We terminate superconducting transmission-line resonator with capacitor that hosts its dielectric. By tuning via applied mechanical strain, observe signatures strongly coupled transmission characteristics extract coupling components dipole moments energy relaxation rates. The strong well-defined bath results pronounced frequency fluctuations excess phase noise, through can effects such spectral diffusion, probe theoretical models interactions.
