摘要: Possible methods of forming rare gas clathrates, which exist in the solid state under normal conditions temperature and pressure, along with optlmum for their preparation, were investigated. Methods investigated were: crystallization from aqueous solutions quinol. nonaqueous solutions, quinol melt. directly vapor phase. All produce clathrate crystals good yields. Under similar operating conditions, much higher content are obtained both give yields than solventless techniques. Krypton xenon fill more vacancies argon identical con ditions. Attempts to form clathrates containing helium neon unsuccessful. Twenty-two organic compounds screened as potential matrix materials, but only quinol, already reported, p-fluorophenol trapped substantial quantities gas. (P.C.H.)
