摘要: The traditional concept of the rift development flank depressions in Baikal zone is now doubted view some indicators for compression deformations identified by seismogeological and geodetic methods. Besides, paleoseismological investigations revealed seismogenic strike-slips reverse faults Tunka fault that a major structure-controlling element depression. However, detailed study upslope-facing scarp Arshan paleoseismogenic structure has shown its formation might be due to mechanism basin formation. Age estimation been made previously unknown pre-historic earthquake whose epicentral area coincides with western structure. Judging from determined ages paleoearthquakes, mean recurrence period faulting events on central 2780–3440 years.
