摘要: The bronchodilator effects of aminophylline have been well documented but its effect on ventilatory drives has not systematically evaluated. Accordingly, the responses to hypoxia and hypercapnia were measured before after intravenous administration 5 mg per kg body weight 6 normal subjects. Hypoxic response, as by an index relation between ventilation (parameter A) increased from a mean +/- SE control value 146 25 254 35 75 min infusion (P less than 0.05). Significant increases in A also noticed immediately 50 infusion. Oxygen consumption 235 21 263 ml STPD 0.03), CO2 production 184 12 202 13 0.01) aminophylline. Hypercapnic slope response hypercapnia, was altered Thus, addition bronchodilation, augmentation may be useful factor when this drug is used acute respiratory failure secondary airway obstruction.
