摘要: Abstract We have examined the effects of gap junction blocker carbenoxolone (CBX) on generation and propagation epileptiform activity induced by 4-aminopyridine (4-AP) in rat entorhinal cortex hippocampus. analyzed pattern generated awaked rats administering 10 nmol 4-AP we studied effect CBX (50 nmol) 30 min later injection into cortex. The produced an EEG recordings characterized initial hypersynchronic followed trains high-amplitude discharges. This was associated with convulsive behavior rated as 0, 1 3 Racine Scale. In contrast, no changes electrical or were observed animals that received NaCl alone. application to had decreased amplitude frequency discharges, well number duration Indeed, discharge completely blocked after 22 ± 4.4 min, likewise reverted these animals. conclude Gap junctions participate regions, blocking motor alterations.
