摘要: Abstract A prospective study of 54 cases pulmonary infection following aspiration was performed. Specimens utilized for bacteriologic were either transtracheal aspirates, empyema fluid or blood. Appropriate anaerobic bacteriologie methods employed. Anaerobic bacteria recovered in 50 patients (93 per cent) and the only pathogens 25 (46 cent). The predominant species Bacteroides melanino-genicus, Fusobacterium nucleatum microaerophilic gram-positive cocci. fragilis, which is resistant to many commonly used antibiotics, nine (17 Aerobic facultative present 29 (54 cent), but anaerobes concurrently all 4. Enteric gram-negative bacilli pseudomonads particularly common whose disease developed hospital. Eleven with mixed aerobic infections treated successfully antibiotics active against isolates, thereby further implicating pathogenic role these microorganisms. results indicate that play a key most aspiration.
