摘要: Transgenic crops have been used commercially for over ten years. So far, mostly herbicide-tolerant and insect-resistant Bt employed. Available impact studies show that these are beneficial to farmers consumers produce large aggregate welfare gains. Moreover, transgenic bring about environmental health benefits. in particular well suited also small-scale farmers, contributing higher yields, more rural employment, household incomes. In many cases, developing countries even benefit than developed countries, because of weaker intellectual property protection differences agroecological socioeconomic conditions. The advantages future applications could be much bigger. These results suggest can contribute significantly food security, poverty reduction, sustainable development at the global level.
