Transvaginal pulsed Doppler ultrasound assessment of blood flow to the corpus luteum in IVF patients following embryo transfer

摘要: Summary. The waveforms of vessels supplying the ovaries women on an in-vitro fertilization (IVF) programme were studied using transvaginal B-mode and Doppler ultrasound. There 125 scans recorded in 65 at weekly intervals from 3 days after embryo transfer or 5 gamete intrafallopian (GIFT) until confirmation pregnancy onset menses. At each examination signals obtained quantified a resistance index (RI). Fifteen patients became pregnant whom one has subsequently miscarried. was highly significant difference RI values between who those did not; no patient had greater than 0.5. Oestrogen to progesterone ratios calculated subgroup non-pregnant there correlation these values. This new technique enables prediction IVF treatment failure earlier been reported previously may reflect inadequacy corpus luteum.
