摘要: With fast deployment of wireless local area networks (WLANs), the ability WLANs to support real time services with stringent quality service (QoS) requirements has come fore. We evaluate capability QoS in IEEE 802.11e standard, which provides medium access control (MAC) enhancements for 802.11. Both enhanced distributed channel (EDCA) and polling based modes are evaluated, their performance under audio video traffic is shown through simulations. find that EDCA satisfactory differentiation among its four categories. However, presence heavy load traffic, such as a high definition television (HDTV) signal transmission, it more desirable place HCF (hybrid coordination function) mode avoid adverse impact other on this class traffic. hybrid protocol, network capacity effectively increased better real-time transmissions future home networks.
