摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter summarizes the researches and discoveries of different antineoplastic agents regarding treatment cancer. Several naturally occurring compounds or their derivatives have received considerable attention in recent years because clinical potential. Some structural requirements for another class antineoplastics, quassinoids, been studied, it has determined that epoxymethano bridge C-1 C-12 hydroxyls are necessary biological activity. Adriamycin continued to be dominant force expanding use chemotherapeutic agents. Its wide spectrum activity coupled with its dose-limiting cardiac toxicity continues stimulate search structurally modified improved profiles. The 14-diethoxyacetoxy derivative daunorubicin also showed superior antitumor a greater than two-fold increase therapeutic index. High dose methotrexate (MTX) followed by folinic acid rescue found application variety tumors. Thymidine (TdR) recently reported effective as agent high MTX. Gallium nitrate, heavy metal compound active animal tumor systems shown nonmyelosuppressive, provided responses initial studies Hodgkin's disease lymphoma, ovarian cancer, osteogenic sarcoma. Aspirin Indomethacin, inhibitors PG biosynthesis, inhibit growth 3-methylcholanthrene (Meth A)-induced fibrosarcoma. Another inhibitor, Flurbiprofen, enhanced chlorambucil on chemo-resistant line Walker tumor. most widely studied method reducing encapsulation liposomes. mechanism drug reduction pharmacokinetics liposome encapsulated drugs reviewed this chapter. A great deal research toward goal inhibiting carcinogenesis.
