摘要: The effect of H 2 S at the parts per million level on early stage iron corrosion in 3 wt % NaCl solutions saturated with CO is investigated using electrochemical and surface science techniques. Small concentrations (5 ppm) have an inhibiting presence . At higher (up to 500 ppm), rate but below S-free case. characterization surfaces after uses photoelectron spectroscopy electron microscopy. For Fe exposed S-containing solutions, a sulfur peak (S 2p) appears binding energy 162.1 eV, attributable disulfide 2- ) adsorption. P3/2 attributed Fe(II) shifts by about 1 eV 5 ppm compared case due bonding O. concentrations, formation S-rich indicated. Morphological changes are observed exposure solutions. A thin protective film forms S, while thicker, more porous phase forms. mechanism for inhibition different /brine proposed.
