Glaucoma following congenital cataract surgery: An 18-year longitudinal follow-up

摘要: . Purpose: To report the occurrence of postoperative glaucoma and to evaluate risk factors. Methods: Children born in four western counties Sweden who were diagnosed with congenital cataracts formed a cohort (n=137). The following parameters evaluated: age at cataract surgery; type visual outcome; IOP; optic disc abnormalities; date onset complication; number reoperations, including treatment for secondary cataract; presence systemic anomalies; microphthalmus; eye-related anomalies. Results: A diagnosis was recorded 12% eyes. mean follow-up time 9.6 years. There is relationship between surgery before 10 days development glaucoma. Microphthalmus an important factor as well. Conclusions: Despite modern surgical techniques incidence aphakic 10% or higher. No time-dependent increase late-onset 1980s 1990s could be proven.
