摘要: Information theoretic and statistical techniques for determining the number of discernible levels in cutaneous receptor neurons are reviewed. Reasons large variance these results discussed. A new continuous information analysis technique is presented that overcomes many problems other methods Comparison this method with a developed by Schreiner et al. (1978) clearly shows some misconceptions associated techniques, why cannot arise discussed here.
