摘要: Flood-carved landforms across the deglaciated terrain of Victoria Land, East Antarctica, provide convincing geomorphological evidence for existence subglacial drainage networks beneath Antarctic ice sheet, and motivate research into inaccessible environment contemporary sheet. Through this research, our understanding hydrology is steadily building, paper presents an overview current state knowledge. The conceptualization hydrological behaviour was developed at temperate Arctic glaciers, thus less mature in Antarctic. Geophysical remote sensing observations have demonstrated that many lakes form part a highly dynamic network Recent water flows, other than those directly concerned with lakes, has discovered potentially significant impacts on stream dynamics, sheet mass balance, supplies to ocean affecting circulation nutrient productivity. Despite considerable advances there remain number grand challenges must be overcome order improve knowledge these processes.
