摘要: ABSTRACTPresented here are the tetralophodont proboscidean remains from late Miocene locality Pikermi (Attica, Greece). The study of tetralophodons and their comparison with other relevant specimens revealed that species ‘Tetralophodon’ atticus ‘Mastodon’ grandincisivus synonymous. morphological characters specimens, as well those attributed to grandincisivus, consistent North American shovel-tusker Amebelodon (Konobelodon). However, generic rank revision Konobelodon is deemed appropriate. observed differences between type britti tetralophodon indicate latter belongs a distinct species, atticus.
