摘要: Asthma is characterised by chronic lung airway inflammation, increased responsiveness and variable airflow obstruction. In Westernised countries asthma a public health concern because of its prevalence, associated ill high societal healthcare costs. recent decades there has been marked increase in particularly countries. It proposed that changing diet contributed to the asthma. Several dietary hypotheses exist; first relates declining antioxidant intake, second decreased intake long-chain n-3 PUFA increasing n-6 PUFA. Vitamin D supplementation deficiency have also hypothesised Observational studies reported associations between antioxidants (vitamin E, vitamin C, carotenoids, Se, flavonoids, fruit), lipids (PUFA, butter, margarine, fish) D. However, supplementing diets adults with minimal, if any, clinical benefit. There growing interest possibility childhood influenced maternal during pregnancy, highlighting some nutrients D, PUFA) pregnancy. suggested pregnancy influences fetal and/or immune development. Further intervention are needed establish whether modification nutrient can be used as healthy low-cost measure reduce prevalence
