摘要: An experimental study of head-free and head-fixed gaze shifts explores the role vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) during saccadic slow phase components shifts. A systematic comparison in humans revealed that while VOR is switched off as soon saccade starts, its function progressively restored terminal saccade. The duration this restoration period fairly constant; therefore, faster saccade, sooner starts to be restored. On basis these data, a new eye-head coordination model proposed. This an extension one proposed by Laurutis Robinson (1986) where gain both dynamic error signal head velocity. has also been added another (Guitton et al. 1990). Both modified models yield simulation results comparable data. pinpoints high efficiency control system. Indeed, fixed time (approximately 40 ms) needed restore inhibited VOR; system thus must have knowledge own dynamics order able anticipate end movement.
