摘要: Background: Evidence about the impact of routine feedback patient-reported outcomes is contradictory, and there limited information regarding its use in management cataract patients. Methods: The VF-14 Index was used to assess visual function 833 consecutive patients, attending 19 ophthalmologists from public private hospitals primary care practices Spain, 1999–2000. In this before/after trial, intervention included (1) an educational session, (2) provision scores all subsequent patients ophthalmologist. Mixed effects linear logistic models were constructed effect on process (correlation between patients’ physicians’ assessments function, appropriateness surgery recommendation) outcome (satisfaction). Results: adjusted regression coefficient for score significantly increased after as a predictor ophthalmologist’s assessment (β coefficient: control 0.10 vs. 0.35, p < 0.05). did not increase probability appropriate medical decision (OR=0.90; 95% CI: 0.42; 2,69) it change patient satisfaction with care. Conclusions: Routine education patient’s increases agreement functional capacity. lack beneficial or suggests need more intense practice.
