摘要: One hypothesis for the maintenance of edge a species' range suggests that more central (and abundant) populations are relatively stable and less with increased local extinction turnover rates. To date, estimates such metrics equivocal due to design analysis flaws. Apparent rates at range, versus interior, could be function decreased detection probabilities alone, not biological process. We estimated species interiors edges their ranges using an approach which incorporates potential heterogeneity in probabilities. Extinction were higher (0.17 ′ 0.03 [SE]) than (0.04 0.01), as was turnover. Without taking probability into account these differences would artificially magnified. Knowledge is essential furthering our understanding dynamics, directing conservation efforts. This study further illustrates practical application methods proposed recently estimating other community dynamic parameters.
