摘要: The association of skin color with coronary heart disease risk factors was studied in 4,000 urban Puerto Rican men. Skin on the inner upper arm classified according to von Luschan tiles. Using this grading, men were separated into two groups light or dark color. group had a lower socioeconomic status (SES) based income, education, and occupation. Dark slightly higher mean systolic blood pressures (SBP) serum cholesterol levels than light, but relative weights cigarette smoking habits both similar. After controlling for differences SES, showed small statistically significant SBP. Whether represents genetic environmental influences SBP could not be determined from study.
