摘要: Recruitment success is one of the factors that may be influencing slow population recovery Dia- dema antillarum at many locations in Caribbean. D. recruitment was measured with plates monthly intervals from September 2005 to Sep- tember 2006 three reefs along an inshore-offshore gra- dient La Parguera, Puerto Rico. A total 275 recruits were collected shelf-edge reef during this 13-month study. Two mid-shelf and no inner shelf reef. varied among months shelf- edge, highest value (1,067 ind/m 2 ) occurring July 2006. Previous benthic surveys Parguera region have demonstrated higher densities adult an- tillarum inshore reefs. The suggests not a major deter- minant spatial distribution population. study indicative sources larvae available upstream larval sur- vival occurring.
