摘要: [1] We examined the effect of sustained stream bank seepage during base flow conditions on hydrology two riparian zones in lowland agricultural areas southern Ontario, Canada. Hydrometric data and subsurface chloride patterns over a 2-year period indicated that inflow to zone reversed water table gradient inland for periods up 4 months summer autumn at one sites. Stream occurred throughout year second site where hillslope was restricted by an upslope spur. Despite high evapotranspiration rates summer, maintained saturated sediments extended 25 m inland. A bromide tracer injection interface along preferential paths poorly sorted gravel layer Conceptual models humid temperate have focused hydrologic paths. However, our results suggest low-flow can exert dominant control landscapes level bounded perennial streams receive limited inflows from adjacent slopes.
