Solubility of Noble Gases in Molten Fluorides. II. In The LiF-NaF-KF Eutectic Mixture

摘要: Solubilities of He, Ne, and Ar were measured at pressures from l to 2 atmospheres in a mixture LiF, NaF, KF (46.5-11.5-42.0 mole%) 600, 700, 800 deg C. The solubilities increase linearly with gas pressure, decrease increasing atomic weight (radius) the solute, temperature. Henry's law constants moles solute (cm/sup 3/ solution)(atmosphere) 600 C are 11.3 plus or minus 0.7 x 10/sup -8/, 4.36 0.20 0.90 0.04 -08/ enthalpies solution 8.0, 8.9, 12.4 kcal/mole for Ar, respect0vely. A model which equates free energy formation holes size molecules continuous fluid having same surface tension solvent yields solubility values good agreement those observed. (auth)
